Does the 1991 Washington Huskies football team get enough credit?

Maybe if they would have played Miami instead of hiding in the Rose Bowl, they’d be talked about more, but as it stands the 91 natty goes to Miami since they didn’t hide in the Rose Bowl and play some Big Slow opponent

I’m not a mindreader and I wasn’t even born until ‘94.

And checking to see whether they do or not just sounds like too much work imo.

Sorry, couldn’t tell ya. 🤷‍♂️

Nothing wrong with giving it to UW tho.

Similar resume, similar results vs common opps, same W-L record.

Was The Rock on that 91 Miami team?

Hard to vote against em if he was.

this explains a lot

A legitimate argument can be made for UW, tho.

Huskies only had one close game all year, canes had three.

Canes also had the advantage of 1) their bowl game being a literal home game and 2) Huskies went first vs Nebby (road game, btw) while Miami went much later.

After further review, I’d probably give it to UW. But it’s far from clear or indisputable.

Washington vs. Miami in 1991 would have been a fun game to watch.
I thought Washington was slightly better that year.

I didn't see either team in person that year, but I did see Miami in 1990 (vs. FSU) and 1992 (@ Iowa) and Washington in 1992 (vs. USC). Those two teams were just loaded with talent in the early '90s.

On a slightly different note, how many know that UW has one of the longest undefended streaks in NCAA history?

Top five of all-time seems a bit far fetched....
