Bookie:
$ 929.00
So apparently a prequel series is hitting this fall.

Same teaser trailer, "Influence," on YouTube:

Just came across this trailer on tv. I have to be honest, it doesn't look good, but maybe it will surprise me. Looks like a show about a bunch of scheming women.

I'll give it a view I guess but not expecting much.

It's hard for me to believe is such little time they can produce a quality film. I'll watch to find out though.

"Entering the Dune Universe" promo:

I watched Ep 1 and 2. It's a good series. Sort of what one would expect. However, there is one badass character I didn't expect to wield so much power. I haven't read any of the books so I'm going into this blind.

It's been good, but I have so many questions at this point.

i didn't care for the movies. however, i felt the same about "the batman" but liked the penguin, maybe I'll give it a shot.

This is a good series. And now I understand the movies a lot better too. If you liked dune are interested in why the different families are at war, this series explains a lot.

I found it boring with a few moment of eye rolling bad writing. It's also kinda bullshit how its just a set up for everything to happen next season. They could have cut at least 2 episodes of the 6 and just attached them to whatever they do next season. The movies are FAR superior, but also, that's not surprising since the movies are based on Frank's book and the show is based on his son's Brian's, and all his stuff is dogshit

As a person that never read the books, prophecy filled in a lot of data that was left out of the movie. Things like why one family has a leader that floats through the air and was able to withstand the poison that killed everyone else. Why some people have the voice and others don't have that as a part of their arsenal. The movie gave a person no understanding of the Gerrserits ... which is a crime. Shit happend for 10,000 years prior to the events that the movie Dune is based on.

I did not like the bouncing around of the timelines. That made follwing things difficult. I did rewatch a few episodes more than once because I wasn't keeping up.

The penguin was excellent. This isn't as violent but the back story is told similar to how the Penquin was written. There is more drama in this.

I would say the first 3 episodes are very slow, the last 3 made things interesting but you are correct they fucked us by ending on a major cliff hanger that will take at least two years to find out what happens. There should be 2 more episodes in this season and have some type of conclusion.

The modern Dune story does not include the Third Stage Guild Navigators. For me that is a fatal, insurmountable flaw.
