So if it is much like past versions and you can rearrange conferences however you want, how would you do it? If I remember correctly the number of conferences were fixed and there was 12 or 14 team limit (i could be wrong about that). Super conferences or regional? would you leave things the same?

There are currently 133 FBS schools. Cap that at 128. Relegate the bottom X# of schools out each year. Eliminate current conference structures; create 16 regional divisions of 8 schools each all under one FBS umbrella. Each of the 16 divisions have a 2-team championship game (bowl). Each of the 16 division champs play in the championship tournament (bowls).

Of course, the angle of this concept gives no fucks about money, NCAA football history or tradition and is simply a structural optimization.

i liked the oldschool games where you could run a team like Akron into a powerhouse and they would receive an invite to a different conference.

relegate the bottom to independent status

And therein lies the problem. Money trumps NCAA football history, tradition, structural optimization and any other thing that might be considered.

thats why making a conference in the game that much more fun

I just loved how when COVID hit everyone talked about how things should be closer, play teams within your little geographical bubble. Now we got USC/UCLA playing in New Jersey.

Looks pretty good. Only issue is Texas Tech. No reason to put them in the PAC especially since it makes for uneven teams
It's also a little weird for LSU to be in the BIG 12 but I can live with that

Uneven? All of them have 13.

I mean the PAC and Big 12 could be even with Tech back in the Big 12. That’s all. It isn’t good enough reason to put Tech in the PAC.

that would make 12 and 14. the purpose was that all 5 had 13.
