Long suffering Miner fans don't get a chance to brag very often about our football team or players. But this is pretty good company to be in. Aaron Jones is a class act and is probably the best Miner to play in the NFL since Don Maynard...and that is a very long period of time in between those two.

How many of you are old enough to remember Abner Haynes? Another Texas boy that played college football at North Texas and then for the Dallas Texans....yes the Dallas TEXANS. The Texans were a pretty bad AFL team that became the Kansas City Chiefs in the early 60s IIRC.

Zeke had 56 rushing and 12 receiving in his first 6 seasons. Seems like a better number.

Best UTEP NFLer since Lee Mays
Only a Steeler fan would know that one. Lee actually played on some of the Miner teams that didn't suck. My daughter was a cheerleader during the time Lee played at UTEP. I got to know Lee a little because he roomed with a player my daughter graduated from high school with and my wife taught. Lee came to the house when we fed those local guys sometime. Lee ate like a horse. What was interesting was how difficult it is for some of the wide receivers to maintain weight during the season. They have a tendency to run it off!
