Pretty much locking us in to him for the next 3 years . We are now officially open for business on pick 4. Come and get it fellas.

WOW, if the Jets keep Darnold and no one tries to trade up the number 2 QB taken could be at 8.

I'm still somewhat skeptical they trade down. Prospects like Sewell and Pitts don't come around every draft and they might have to trade down a fairly large amount to get value at Edge or CB.

I hate that motherfucker. Falcons are gonna sick as long as he’s the QB unless they get an elite o-line and defense

Chances of that happening in today's world are basically zero.

Someone will trade up, you can take it to the bank. I'd be surprised if 3 QBs weren't taken within the top 6.

Even if Jets keep Darnold, they are going to either take a QB or trade down trying to get a QB later.

I don’t agree with that move at all but I understand what you mean. Cowherd today was saying the Dolphins should draft Justin Fields so he can back up Tua and be an insurance policy. That seems beyond silly to not just for the drama it’ll cause but because Cowherd was trying to say if it works out with Tua the dolphins can just trade Fields. No chance they get equal value for that trade when they take Fields at 3.

Yeah you don't use a top 10 pick as insurance and hope to flip him for equal value later. you do that with 2nd rounders and beyond. Unless someone just lights up the stat sheets, you don't usually get a top 10 pick for the player. And if they are good enough to do so, you keep them.

I just think the Jets aren't sold on Darnold. They may be 'sold' on him as far as it gets them through the draft or this season, but think they use a high pick on another QB. Smart move would be to draft high QB this year and let him sit an entire season. So Jets won't be doing that.

Agree with most of what you said. I just have a hard time agreeing taking a top 10 pick to be a backup at the QB position to sit behind a guy that is still young himself And learning. I’m not so sure on Darnold ethier but I would agree if the Jets trade down and then take a QB to boast that draft capital It’d be a smart move.

The reason I think a trade back is highly likely is Atlanta is fucked , actually beyond fucked, next year.

Team legit has 19 players signed for 22 and have less than 40M in cap space. Only 2 teams have less players signed for 22 and both of them have 130M plus in cap

They're simply not going to be able to fill out a 53 man roster without huge draft capital. It's already likely they're going to have to trade or release Julio, Grady Jarrett , Deion Jones and a few other after this season just to create enough cap to field a full roster next year

Who are the other two teams?

That’s still an absurd turnover even for a team with a lot of cap space.

Pretty much every team sucks without a good line and defense

I like building those things first then getting your new QB. Drafting a guy this year pretty much wastes half his rookie deal or more ( probably more ) as you try and build around him ( with no cap room mind you)

Whoever the QB is in 2-3 years is going to need a good OL and defense anyway

Ryan's cap hit next year is 50M lololol. Shit his desp cap is 40M . He may legit get traded next off-season and we just eat the 40M because it saves us 10
