They need to fix the absolute abomination of having the Superbowl on Sunday. SATURDAY is ideal for the game.
Here’s the really stupid part. There’s a Monday holiday one mere week away now. Give every team two bye weeks. Extend the schedule a week and have the Superbowl the Sunday before Presidents Day.

Its a no brainer either way. Even on a three day weekend, it should still be on a Saturday. There isnt shit to compete with it this time of year, just do it.

Can't see that ever happening. Moving it to the President's Day weekend seems more likely.

Thursday games should only be teams coming off bye weeks.

Be a lot easier with your two byes a year plan.

Will endorse if asked by the league office.

Or…and hear me out…they could just stop playing the games on Thursday.
Too much money to be made, unfortunately. This also goes against the whole "everyone plays a Thursday game so no one gets hosed" thing that they were supposed to keep in place.

Or just do what Tennessee (I know, but hear me out here) is proposing, which is ditch Columbus Day and make Super Bowl Monday a holiday:

Instead of Thursday night games, they should have it on Saturday night instead.......
Especially being they are always in protocol about injuries.....

They have a handshake non-compete agreement with CFB for Saturday games and don't want to play Friday night because of high school games. That's why they landed on Thursday night for the extra game day.

thought this was the morning thread for a hot second

So it used to be you couldn't watch local NFL teams on TV unless the game sold out. Now they are doing everything they can to prevent games from selling out by putting the constant threat of the game moving up 72 hours?
