Poor Cal they went SEC heavy on their non-conference and now the PAC has pretty much folded, they have big budget deficits and recruiting wasn't easy but will be twice as hard now.yes but coming up they have @ NC State, @Cal, @Arizona State, @ colorado, @ ND
Don't make me stick up for the Gators. But, they play FSU every year OOC, and often play Miami. Since 1991 those teams have accounted for, what - 4 or 5 NCs and been runners-up a half dozen times. There are a lot of reasons to hate UF, that doesn't seem to be one of them. That said, it's about damn time they got on the road.Just saw this stat. Tomorrow will be Florida’s 1st non-conference road game outside the state of Florida, since they played Syracuse in 1991.. amazing
I think we may see a slate of cancellations for OOC once this all settles out. For example, if the SEC goes to 9 IC games, I can't see us playing the Nerds and 2 really good OOC like we have in 4 or 5 years in the last 20s, 30s.Poor Cal they went SEC heavy on their non-conference and now the PAC has pretty much folded, they have big budget deficits and recruiting wasn't easy but will be twice as hard now.
RIP
I'm not sure we will see a ton of cancellations because schedules are a bitch and it's a lot cheaper to bail on the smaller crappier schools and everyone needs to be playing at least 1 historical P5ish team.I think we may see a slate of cancellations for OOC once this all settles out. Now that the B1G has 30 members and play 9 IC games, they may cut back some on OOC.
Just open the season with an SEC/B1G Challenge at Jerry's World. Plenty of money for everyone.I'm not sure we will see a ton of cancellations because schedules are a bitch and it's a lot cheaper to bail on the smaller crappier schools and everyone needs to be playing at least 1 historical P5ish team.
The P5 requirement is out the window in the future because one the P5 won't exist and what is left has been diluted so there has to be some type of OOC requirement but the definition is going to need to expand. For example, Boise State or San Diego State is the equivalent of a Wake Forest or Cal as far as toughness.
They can’t leave the state to play a non-conference game? They play Miami very rarely. And FSU since 2013 has not been anything to crow about. This isn’t much of a defense.Don't make me stick up for the Gators. But, they play FSU every year OOC, and often play Miami. The time frame was 1991 to current. Show me who played a tougher OOC those years. Who cares if they left the state. As a fan I want my team to play great away games, so from that perspective I don’t like it. But to act like they played a pussy schedule OOC is just wrong.Miami has been mediocre at best almost annually since around 2005
You can argue for FSU at times lets but not act like playing Miami the last 20 years is some great juggernaut
