Former Michigan Stars suing for NIL

Denard Robinson and Braylon Edwards? Tow guys that apparently can't get over that their careers are done. Shawn Crable needs the money because he has 25 kids and is a part-time HS assistant coach

How can you be denied profits from something that didn't yet exist?
I’ve always wondered that because of the highlights. In pro sports it’s apart of your CBA where you waive your rights to royalties so I’ve wonder how that works with college

I just wonder if they have dirt that they will share as part of this scheme.

Edwards won a slander lawsuit a few years back. Donated all the money to establish college scholarships.

He’s been a pretty big donor to UM in recent years. Assuming this would be another windfall if he wins.

Denard is fat and not rich, so he might need the money.

That is the point. Amateur athletes don't have a CBA

Got kicked to the curb from the coaching staff too

Edwards is proof that Mother Nature has a sense of humor. He had all of the physical skills to be a beast but the brain of a scarecrow

Yes, and why I am wondering if those dudes signed away their rights somewhere else. Royalties was the entire O’Bannon case.

I believe they argument is that they tried to profit off their NIL but were illegally (says the course) denied that by these organizations so they're seeking compensation for those losses.

They were compensated at the time in the ways that every other college athlete was compensated.

Right, but all athletes at the time were being illegally forced out of profit -- and those entities have continued to profit off of their NIL (replays of games, ect.) that's the argument. If successful -- oh boy, watch out. Because I think the flood gates will open against the NCAA and other networks.

So would this mean that every time minimum wage goes up everyone can sue for backpay?

This would kill replays of older games.
