Games are starting to get canceled left and right

Ohio State vs. Kentucky
VCU vs. PSU

Rumors circulating that Seton Hall vs. Iona is going to be canceled, as well as UNC vs. UCLA.

Apparently CBS is looking into trying to get a replacement for Ohio State to play Kentucky. I guess VCU is technically an option now. 9-1 Wyoming doesn't play. Hell throw the Gophers at them we don't play until next Wednesday.

who cares

the only game that matters this weekend is DEACS VS NINERS

AND I WILL IN ATTENDANCE @ THE SPECTRUM

Go Demon Niners

amen

Add DePaul vs. NW. Three good/intriguing games off the board.

Ohio State entire program is vaccinated too

Yeah I think like 96%-97% of players have been vaccinated across the entire sport. I wish everyone would do what CFB did. Apparently they only tested if you had symptoms. Maybe that's the case here, where one person had it and spread it and others are just asymptomatic. Idk but if fucking sucks. I can't do this shit again.

i would be surprised if that were the case. zero P5 games during the college football season got cancelled (or even moved), yet CBB games have been getting cancelled/postponed left and right for the past few days? Makes zero sense.

either way, this is bullshit tbh

we were told if we got vaccinated things would go back to normal and these teams are vaccinated

Wake Forest not only requires the COVD vaccine, but they're going to start requiring the booster shot in the spring. Yet, Jake Laravia has still missed the past two games. The goal posts keep moving and it is starting to piss me the fuck off.

I’m super pissed and want to beat the shit outta Covid

Different situations.

1. it’s now full blown winter. Which is the worst season for Rona. Also there’s the flu to deal with which can give symptoms.

2. Holidays were teams and players(in all sports are traveling to gatherings a lot more)

3. Vaccines are losing their potency hence the boosters.

4. Look around, it’s not just college basketball now it’s NBA, NFL and NHL.

I know Seton Hall is not all vaccinated.

And like St Johns has to be.

It's uneven.

Its pretty clear being vaccinated isn’t some savior to make games continue.

COVID isn't going away. It's here to stay. Constant testing for the vaccinated is fucking dumb. It doesn't change the fact that we told if we would got vaccinated, then life would go back to normal. This isn't normal. I had a college graduation today and I had to wear a mask during it, but i could take it off once i got on the stage. I couldn't shake hands with the chancellor, but i could fist bump her. It's 100% performative bullshit and I'm done pretending that it isn't. I don't give a shit about wearing a mask but the current testing protocols for college and pro teams is beyond stupid.

The messaging from the top health experts in this country has been inconsistent. If it is going to take the total eradication of COVID for things to go back to normal, then they need to say so. Stop beating around the bush and yelling "PLZ GET VACCINATED" at the top of their lungs.

and what happens when the boosters become impotent? Are we going to have to take it every year? Someone needs to step up to the plate and start making boy boy and girl decisions. I have zero issues with taking the vaccine yearly, but I would like to know if that is going to be the procedure.

Disappointed in this thread after seeing the title. I feel ripped off.

Current spread in the US is 155,384 new cases per day. It peaked in September at 167,588, so as of now, the spread was worse in September.

Damn.

Shit's really hitting the fan now.

Fuck is right...

Yeah shit sucks right now.

The one good thing is the CDC changed their guidelines so it's a lot quicker for someone who's positive to get back to playing quicker.

lol, holy shit this sucks

what's the data w/ hospitalizations and deaths due to this recent surge? not being snarky, just curious

Hospitalizations and deaths are declining even though there's been a huge uptick in cases. Omicron isn't nearly as bad as Delta was/is. I think something like 60% of all cases are now Omicron. Omicron was first discovered is South Africa in late November, and it's all but died out. I'm guessing(take it with a grain of salt) that we should be in pretty good shape by the end of January/early February.
