I'm looking forward to the Jets ruining Trevor Lawrence and continuing to suck for another 50 years. It's not that I have anything against the Lawrence kid, he seems like a solid young man. It's just that the Jets deserve to suck for 50 more years.

Probably was. Boomer Esiason said "you only draw it up that way in order to LOSE THE GAME." It just happened to work out for the Raiders. Another bad throw by Carr and it's a different story.
Williams was probably gone at year's end, anyway, but they definitely needed a scapegoat for such an obvious call. Even his own defensive players were calling him out over it
A podcast mentioned it this morning. Some advanced stats from ESPN (considering the source I’m not going to look for it). 200 something snaps of this exact situation in the past (down 4-8, very late in the game, etc) and this was THE ONLY one that sent more than 4 rushers.
It was just so horribly bad. And a better asshole couldn’t have taken the fall for it.

I have a plan. The Jets draft Lawrence and BB orchestrates a 3 team deal for Sam Darnold, brings him in and turns him into a HOFer

I mean it was completely intentional. The defense got beat the play before as the wr got behind the dbs. Carr just overthrew him by about 5 yards. So reasonably, they send the house and leave no safety help? Any other team has atleast 2 dbs just roaming the goal line there.
I understand not just putting 4+ dbs in the endzone on the play because you don't want them to pick up an easy 20 yards and leave one more play, for about 20 yards to go.
But bottomline, that was as clear as tanking as it comes. Greg should be given a huge bonus on his way out the door.

Well, the Jets are in a dogfight with Jacksonville for the 1st pick in the 2021 draft. NY hasn't had a chance to screw up the career of a #1 overall pick in awhile, right?
