I'm inclined to think that there's still more to gain by seeing what Hiura does and letting him try to work through his issues. It would be a different story if Pujols was a legitimate hitter at this point and we weren't talking about replacing a sub-replacement level guy (with potential upside) with a slightly less negative but still sub-replacement level guy (with little upside).

Can he though? He hit .231/.242/.385 against them last season in a sample that was over twice as large as this year's 28 PAs.

I've put together enough top platoons in sim league to know how many no-names have put up impressive numbers against LHPs in a hundred ABs or so. We will have to see if Albert can pull that off again in LA I guess.
 
It sucks to see an all time great be relegated to a bench role.
