The major falling out with the 49ers was Harbaugh's outright refusal to be even slightly cooperative with his bosses.

The Michigan football program found a way (smart) to keep that at bay by having him only deal through intermediaries (tard wrangling)

Ono is a fucking idiot if he wants to end this and let Harbaugh be free to be himself without restraint again. Harbaugh has had bad clashes with his superiors at every place he's ever coached. Well i'm not sure about University of San Diego. But I do recall him and the Stanford AD constantly butted heads as well.

You mean the Stanford AD who held a press conference to thank Jim Harbaugh and how "Harbaugh was responsible for re-energizing the Stanford Football program and building them into a national power"?

He did butt heads with the GM at San Francisco -- it happens all the time in the NFL and alot of times with prominent coaches. It is WAY more likely to happen in the NFL than in college, as the GM is responsible for personnel moves and the coach/GM have to be on the same page or it will lead to friction. That's what happened in SF. Yet here are the articles they are still putting up in the Bay Area:

No doubt -- The college game, in general, with the portal and NIL, is a cluster fuck right now. Then to deal with the NCAA getting butt hurt over a $10 hamburger and dealing with administration, recruiting, etc. No thank you.

I'm glad he is back, but if I were him -- I'd run.
