I’ve disliked this weirdo since he was hired. That said, it was amazing to see the palpable joy when he won. Anyone who has ever done anything great knows that you get beat up along the way. Life has more downs than ups for most of us. I have tremendous respect for what he did this year, and it’s great to see the joy that is in him.

Looks like we will get them in the semis and I hope we beat their brains in, but I’ve gained a lot of respect for him. He’s done a great job this year!

This is a huge hurdle for him and Michigan to jump combined with the win over Ohio State. They deserve a big celebration.
One day is all we deserve ... We have to get ready for Cincinnati, Georgia and Alabama. I watched Alabama and Georgia yesterday ... we have a lot of work to do.

Sooooo they no longer want him fired?

TBH, I've always had kind of a soft spot for a team getting rid of their own mental block and getting over the hump.

Coach Harbaugh and UM definitely seem to have done that. So, congrats to them and their fans. :thumb:

Looks like restructuring Harbaugh's contract to being more 'incentive' based was the thing to do.

I was absolutely on the fire Harbs bandwagon. I admit it. Was hard not to be but it’s okay to be wrong and I’m glad I was.

As were thousands upon thousands of Husker fans and beat writers with Tom Osborne.
He'd played for a lot of natties, but it took him 21 years to finally win his first.

if Nebraska paid Frost 750k per win, we’d be way ahead of the game.

He's on the short leash. Alberts did what he needed to do.

With the newly restructured contract, I'd have fired him after the Iowa game. "Here's your $7 mil. Sorry, changed our minds".

This is one of Ohio State's youngest teams in recent memory. That team in ann arbor this season is the better, more experienced and hungrier team. And Ohio State's D has been lousy for a good part of the season.

How the Buckeyes were the favorites going into the game is still weird to me. But I expect a better Ohio State team to face UofM next season. That is as long as JH doesn't cancel the game like he did last season.

The question is whether Day can maintain what he inherited from Urbs.

Urbs players and influence on the locker room are all but washed out now.

I see no reason why he can't. And so far he's been able to put together some damn good recruiting classes.

3 Elite coaches in a row at one school?

What are the odds?

Have no idea. I won't call Day elite right now. He's off to a great start and have proven he can recruit. But to me the current elite coaches in the country is a small list. 1- Saban 2- Sweeney 3 through whatever all a matter of opinion.

But don't wanna keep talking about Day in JH thread. It would be great if Georgia beats UofM by 6 TD's.

Right. Keep that high school coach out of this thread about a real one.

It's funny you think because of what UofM has accomplished this season it erases all of JH's previous failures. He's still the most overrated & overhyped coach in CFB history. And still has a terrible record against all ranked teams.

How many years did it take JH to finally beat Ohio State? How many years did it take yer coach to finally win a division title & conference crown?

UofM was the better, more experienced & hungrier team this season. And this was one of Ohio State's youngest teams in a long time. Already looking forward to the rematch in Columbus next year. Hopefully JH doesn't chicken out again & have the game cancelled like he did last season.
