Cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike attempted a faulty update to its software. The defective update apparently paralyzed systems on the Microsoft Windows platform. Airlines, banks, businesses and government agencies on that platform are shut down. Systems are affected worldwide. CrowdStrike says it has identified the problem and is applying a fix. The company said this was not a cyberattack disruption.

I'm have an Intel i7 processor and my OS is Windows 10. No problems noted, and I can access Windows 365, navigate online, access bank accounts, Costco, Amazon, Safeway, etc. and even Microsoft.com.

Have any of you been affected by the outage? If so please describe how you have been affected.

You have to have CrowdStrike installed for it to be an issue. And it was only machines left on overnight. If the machine was asleep or off, wasn't an issue this morning. So that's why it hit things like major systems; because those are on 24/7.

Glad that I managed to throw it into sleep mode before passing out, I always try to but often don't.

I thought this was going to be one of those have you been affected by the water at Camp Lejeune ads and giving me a lawyers number to call.

:thumper:

No issues on my end.

However, I typically disconnect my PC from my router if I'm not going to be using it for awhile. Particularly overnight.

Easy enough when it's only two clicks and 10 seconds to reconnect.

I had 2 people on my team on a Teams call at 10pm PT last night that said they got blue screen of death'd but I was fine this morning. I had my work laptop in my bag (asleep) and my personal one plugged in on my desk - no problems with either. From what I'm hearing, a small percentage of people were affected at my company. Like, under 10k of 100k+.

Haven't been able to get any work done today.

Not that I'm complaining.

If I was working today, I would be. But I’m not, so I’m not.

Were there Indians (help desk) on that call?
They’re exec level…they have a dedicated IT team of three dudes that fixed it. The hoi polloi…they get sandeep muthargariamisamthi

10PM and you weren't shit-faced. Must have been planned well in advance.

Computers are critical for record keeping. Tracking customer accounts…billing, predilections & the like.

You have very…“interesting” tastes for someone who invokes the lord’s name in their profile, ya preevert!! I’d whoop yer ass but it looks like you pay extra for that!!

Godstree... weed for the God!

All of our company’s workstations and laptops were down. System wide outage and we immediately went on a Network Freeze. Couldn’t access several platforms.
