Heisman finalists

Daniels is weak. Of course last year's winner was weak too

If for the first time in ages it went to the best player, it's Marv. However Nix was elite and I think he gets it.

Surprised McCarthy and Milroe didn't get an invite.

It should go to Bo though.
McCarthy isn't worthy of being in the conversation and his play declined towards the end of the season. Milroe played like absolute horse shit for the first half of the year. But, as we have seen with the playoff pairing an entire season's body of work doesn't matter

Daniels seems like best stats all around. But on an 8-4 team.

Penix worst stats minus has the most passing yards. Had late season lull that made people forget about him, but on the best team with multiple clutch “heisman moments” in big games.

Nix has the best passing stats other than yards, more of a rushing threat than Penix but nothing close to Daniels’ numbers. Lit up a bunch of teams but lacking the clutch heisman moments Penix has, losing their biggest two games when they met.

If it’s more about stats, seems like Daniels is the obvious pick (he probably is). If it’s more about memorable clutch moments I think Penix is the guy.

If 0regon won the CCG and Nix had a moment I think he’d be the guy. But seems hard to put him over Penix when they met twice and Penix has the memorable game changing/winning moments.

Rigged ... no Brock Bowers!

A few weeks ago they said Penix had more deep pass TD's than Nix had Deep pass completions because the Ducks get most of their yards after contact.

There are better stats to look at.

The thing with Penix is his team leadership was responsible for a couple of comebacks if you've seen those clips of him standing in the middle of the whole team rallying them up. But he has carried the only Pac12 13-0 team ever into the playoffs.

Sure. It's a popularity contest though and LSU is more visible to the voting body.

McCarthy just never really had the counting stats to merit serious consideration, between Michigan's play selection and simply subbing starters in the 2nd half in blowouts. Love the guy and I think he's the best Michigan QB I've ever watched, but I don't think it was ever really realistic

Should go to Daniels IMO, but I wouldn't argue with Nix winning it.

FWIW:

Daniels: 236/327 (72.2%), 3812 yards (11.7 Y/A), 40/4 TD/INT, 208 rating, 135 carries for 1134 yards and 10 rushing TDs
Penix: 307/466 (65.9%), 4218 yards (9.1 Y/A), 33/9 TD/INT, 161.4 rating, 29 carries for -18 rushing yards and 3 rushing TDs
Nix: 336/435 (77.2%), 4145 yards (9.5 Y/A), 40/3 TD/INT, 186.2 rating, 53 carries for 228 yards and 6 rushing TDs

With his stats you would think he would be on a team that had a better record than 8-4 so stats don't equal wins which is the goal of each game.

I think those games, weather played a roll, but he still got the win which is the goal.

Nix would be the favorite if they would have beat Washington last week and would be hands down the winner if he would have beat Washington two times this year and 13-0

It shouldn't be about stats but rather what they bring to the table in order to win....

If Nix was 13-0 like I said above he would be the clear-cut choice....period....no discussion.

So why isn't Penix the clear-cut winner on a team that is 13-0?

Penix isn’t the clear cut winner because there’s an SEC player with monster stats. Even with his low point late in the year, Penix still put up good numbers, but it made it easier for him to get forgot about by any voter who isn’t in the northwest.

Considering he came through every single time he needed to and was the center piece of an unreal explosive and efficient offense for a 13-0 playoff bound team should be enough to overcome a couple forgettable games as far as I’m concerned.
