So a lot of people think Henry To'o To'o was a part of the allegations at Tennessee accepting money. If that is the case, is Alabama playing with fire by playing this guy? There are also several other Tennessee transfers out there from Pruitt era who supposedly took money as well and they are playing at other schools.

Eric Gray at Oklahoma is another one who allegedly took money.

I was thinking the NCAA comes down on programs that play these players. This is what got Alabama in 1993.

Why? If HTT took money at Tennessee, that issue would rest with Tennessee. Legal/ethical issues with transfers in the past stayed where they originated. (See "Cam Newton")

Teams cannot play the players that are in violation of NCAA rules. Sure, Alabama won't get scholarship reductions or direct punishments but you could be forced to forfeit games if he is deemed ineligible by the NCAA because Alabama played an ineligible player.

All of our transfers are NCAA Kryptonite. Also the ones that supposedly took the money are the ones that entered the portal or left the program.

I doubt the NCAA has the balls to do this but on paper, people should have not taken these players.

And how exactly are these schools suppose to know this

To be honest, I don't think anything comes of it but it is funny that schools were so eager to scoop up players that were already running a foul of the NCAA.

Eventually we're gonna stop talking about this stuff like it's a scandal and start talking about it like it's capitalism. - $38k a year is solidly middle class in much of the south due to the low cost of living. Not bad pay for an 18 year old who's also receiving room, board and an education.

Go get that money so you can rest them old bones in 30 years, young fellow!

Is that what you're hanging your hat on to break a 15 year streak? :cocktail:

This should be a lesson to teams taking players from the transfer portal

My preference is that Tennessee just pay Pruitt off and for him to go away. If this shit goes completely off the rails Tennessee, Alabama and there have been rumblings of Georgia could get dragged into this shit.

This is just drama no one needs. The NIL stuff is making this shit above board and the NCAA has pretty much been neutered so all likely survive intact just bruised a bit but the other conferences are going to lose their minds and get holier than thou.

We’ve never had a situation where a coach started airing the dirty laundry and nobody needs that to happen.

If the infractions didn’t happen at the current program where the players are currently at the risk is minimal. Maybe forfeited games which is the dumbest penalty on the planet.

Agree. Georgia might be good just due to the long distance between when Pruitt was at Georgia and Tennessee. Statute of Limitations will probably limit it. However, investigating his time in Alabama will be likely if this goes to court.

From what I am reading, though, Tennessee is going to call his bluff. Either Tennessee administration is really dumb (which has been par for the course although this is a new admin) or they truly know Pruitt has no case.

Seems like the SEC Conference would be putting pressure on Tennessee to settle this one. Especially if it has the potential to bring in other BIG-NAME schools.

The rumblings I heard weren’t what Pruitt was doing at Georgia but what Kirby does.

Let‘s face it Kirby and Pruitt learned their “process” under Saban so this isn’t a good situation for any of them.

There was some recruiting scandals (textbook situation) when Saban first went to Alabama. I doubt they really need to break NCAA rules now to get top recruits. They got that name. If they cheated, it would have been in Saban's first 2-3 years.

Your question kind of answers itself ... no team would have taken those kids if their compliance offices thought for a second there was a risk. Therefore, no risk.
