HooplaNation's 2023 CFB Week 3 Rankings - Discussion Thread

There are still some big OOC games left to be played to determine which conference looks to be the best. ND vs. USC, OSU vs. ND, Clemson vs. ND, Kansas State vs. Missouri, Minnesota vs. UNC, Washington vs. MSU, BYU vs. Arkansas, GT vs. Ole Miss, Pitt vs. WVU, and then we have ACC/SEC rivalry week at the end of the year.

I will say, if SC beats ND, I think it's case closed that the P12 is the best conference(assuming UW beats MSU as well). You have two legit title candidates in that regard, and the next best 6 teams are all ranked. It would be great at the top and extremely deep. The ACC probably has the best wins as of now, but they've also taken on a bunch of losses that the P12 hasn't.

I'd go P12 definitely #1. The B1G, SEC, ACC and even Big 12 are kind of jumbled together. Alot will hinge on the OSU/ND and USC/ND games. If OSU loses to ND, the B1G will not have one good win as a conference in non conference(if things play out as projected).

UW SHOULD beat MSU convincingly. Even before all of the Mel Tucker shit they shoulda clobbered them. MSU is not a good football team.

If we let Kyle lead the offense completely and don't give Devin relevant minutes, OSU beats Utah regardless of their QB. They are highly bereft of offensive talent.

They need to let Kyle just play on Saturday. Unless we end up running away with it, then it's ok to put Brown in late in the game. But it's clear Kyle is the guy so letting Brown take meaningful snaps away from Kyle and throwing the offense off again the week before one of the most important games of the season is completely idiotic.

Maybe Tucker being out will spark the team in a good way.

100% agree. Unless there's an injury or complete first half blowout, I don't want to see Devin playing before the 4th in any games any time soon. McCord deserves the chance to get into a rhythm. Put your full confidence in the kid and I'm sure he will do great things.

i flew back from Birmingham yesterday afternoon.. listening to a pod.. two writers (one from WV and the other from Oregon or something) both voted Texas at 10.... with Bama at 7 LOL

I wish. We forgot to come out of tve dressing room at halftime against Northwestern.

We get two money games this year. (Zona is the third closest game we can play. Only NMSU and UNM are closer.) Hope the rest of the athletic department appreciates it.

Ryan Day announced Tuesday that Kyle McCord will be the full-time quarterback beginning with Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky. Devin Brown will revert to a more conventional backup role.

Um, UW lost to a bad ASU team that had just lost their HC in an early road test last season. A game they had no business losing.

I'm not saying I expect a loss, but I'm sure not looking past the opponent and the challenge of a road game across the county.
