Why not? They are undefeated with the biggest win so far. I don't have them #2 but I definitely see the argument for it.

I don't think they are better than michigan tbh. I get the Bama win, but Bama has been struggling.. Bryce wasn't 100% and still was a FG make away from beating them in Knoxville

Also, I just looked at Massey Composite. It ain't the Bible, but it currently has included 47 rankings. Tennessee has beaten #4 Alabama, #21 LSU, #44 Florida, and #45 Pitt. Pretty good deal there Vols.

While I get your first statement, the second statement seems like it is coming from someone that didn't watch the game on Saturday. Bryce Young played one of the best games of his career and still lost. Tennessee got Alabama's best efforts.

Now take away the environment, 15-year streak, etc., Tennessee probably doesn't win that game. Those 17 penalties on Alabama and other mistakes were added by the pressure from the crowd and Tennessee's offense on Alabama. If we get Alabama a second time in Atlanta, we won't have those advantages.

What .makes you say Young wasn't 100%? He didn't struggle to make any throws that I saw, avoided pressure constantly and took some really big hits and popped back up.

he's not 100% man.. he's just so good that he makes it look that way

I think the rankings boil down to multiple philosophies and approaches.

Yeah if you went off body of work, you probably got Tennessee #1 and Clemson #2. Heck, UCLA might deserve the #3 spot.

If you go off how well you think a team is, you probably got Georgia or Ohio State at #1. I did a blended approach with mine but I am setting a rule in stone of Georgia not surrendering the #1 until they actually lose.

Georgia beats Ohio State by 17.

Mines is somewhat blended.
1. Throw teams in tiers based off who do I think would win on a neutral field today. (Teams in the same tier are low confident / 50-50 pick'em)
2. I need a reason to rank one team over the other within the tier, I would use the team with a better resume as a tiebreaker.

i think we can all agree this is a typo, but are you missing a 1 between the 1 and 7 or are you missing a 0 after 17?

He’s not that good. Dude literally can’t play without Williams and Metchie
LOL you mean Bama WRs are nothing compared to Williams and Metchie.. He hit a wide open WR on that last drive that would have made the fg attempt 20 yards shorter, that the WR dropped
