That’s a string bet, always has been, always will be, the first statement of action is binding. So the moment you say “I’ll see” that’s a call and you no longer have the option to raise.

Just a bit of old school lore. I can remember when check-raising was frowned upon. Oh, and there was more poker than just dumbassed Texas Hold ‘em.

Hold em is quickly losing ground to PLO. Really, it's hard to find a no limit Hold em game with high enough stakes to keep you interested.

I know where I can go to play a dealer's choice game where 90% of the hands are 5 card stud.

Not as fun as it used to be. All anyone with money wants to play is PLO despite the fact that if they want action, Spit in the Ocean would provide more, and if they really want to gamble, play some pot limit 7 card no peak.

Unless there's WSOP qualifiers in town, poker at casinos is like pulling teeth. Better action at home games around here(I'm sure it's different in Vegas, just speaking about Cherokee. Biloxi and New Orleans)

Vegas poker sucks. Not what you’d think. Tourists are playing low limit games. The higher games are grinders just sitting there looking for monster hands.

Around here,Texas Hold'em has lost its steam.....

Id play twice a month,with text messages ever Thursday night for a Friday or Saturday game,but now I dont know anyone whos playing these days.....

Theyve even discontinued the TH game at the local casino.....

Its all blackjack nowadays with maybe one other card game........

Kinda sad really.....miss my poker night.

It’s probably the same as around here. PLO provides more action and people with money that just want to gamble prefer PLO to NLHE
 
I've always been a dealer choice, nothing wild, standard 5 card poker along with 5, 6 and 7 card stud. Nothing else. I never became fond of texas holdem so can't speak to it much other than I didn't care for it as much as 5 card draw.

Ref, I'll see your whatever and raise....meh semantics. But house rules are house rules. I have no problem with it. It's your game.
 
My fave is LoBall but hard to find a game anywhere. 5 card draw or stud holds my interest

I wouldn’t say anything, the dealer would catch it and I’m not playing at a game where there isn’t a dedicated dealer taking care of the rake and taking tips
