How to prep for surgery

I spent 4 weeks in the hospital after emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix. I developed a blood clot in my lung and was put on a blood thinner. I had blood in my stool and had a colonoscopy to find the source of the bleeding which was found and repaired. My hemoglobin level was low at 7.4 but now is up to 9.0. Back at home trying to regain strength and endurance. Hope you are feeling better Rob.

Damn! You too, bro. That sounds scary.

A couple of ludes and a bottle of bourbon is a damn good prep.
And
Xanax and then whatever is in that bag they call the Margarita. See you in two seconds...for me.
When they ask is you are worried about the procedure, always answer "scared to death". That guarantees one more shot of the good shit. Rumor has it that the extra shot can lead to karaoke in the prep room ...

Nuttin. Referring to a 10 year old surgery

You should pay a little more and get an adult doctor, I wouldn't trust a 10 year old cutting me open. Not for anything important at least

Not a 10 year old surgeon. Jeesh. :bored:

I'm still not at full strength.

Be extremely careful on those blood thinners. I almost lost my arm 13 years ago tearing my bicep working out and suffering from compartment syndrome. They took me off the blood thinners after that. Those things will mess you up.

I'm taking them to help dissolve the blood clot in my lung.

I was on them for clots too. Had one in my leg and in my foot. I personally diagnosed myself w the one in my foot while at the hospital - they disagreed and sent me home. Woke up the next day in obvious distress and rushed right back to the ER. This was before the arm thing.

The problem with self-diagnosis is that you have no one to sue for malpractice.

I could be a multi millionaire right now. They cut one of my valves on my new heart months after I got it during a biopsy. It was a new doctor. I felt it when it happened. They obviously had to fix it but I could have absolutely sued and would have gotten a nice settlement. At the time I felt like they saved my life and fixed their mistake so....and truth is I’ve lived a great 12 years without any major complications so I have nothing to complain about but...I think about that a lot.
