My answer is yes. Texas resume was much stronger than theirs. FSUs only argument was 13-0 but we all know all schedules aren’t created equal and FSU looked like a team that would struggle to be bowl eligible without Jordan Travis.

The way I read your question is whether Bama kind of pulled Texas in. You couldn't put Bama in without Texas, and because they beat No. 1 UGA, and won the SEC they wanted to put Bama in but had to put in Texas?

It would have been way easier for them to simply put all the undefeated's in. You would have had four 13-0 teams, Bama with 2 losses was out. Man, FSU should have been pulling like shit for UGA.

That said, the Chair did mention the week before about "4 best" so maybe they were warming up to the idea.

Hadn't thought of that ... interesting.

I do think Bama pulled Texas in. Texas beating Alabama fucked everything up. Because that forced the committee to put Texas in also. Texas took FSUs spot….not Alabama.

If Georgia had won Texas would have been the 4th spot and FSU would have been out.

It’s the height of arrogance to assume the committee put two teams in just for Alabama.

Texas’ record stands by itself and they looked really good in the CCG.

Yeah I’ve changed my mind a million times about it. I do think Texas still gets the 4th no matter what

I do think there is a chance FSU gets in with a Georgia win.

That would have given the playoffs 4 undefeated P5 Conference Champions.

That's a committee's wet dream.

Once that was off the table, the criteria changed.

That is a very good point.

Texas looked so great in their game and FSU looked so bad it would have been hard to leave Texas out.

No. Similar to FSU logo not holding as much weight as the Tiger paw. Bama brand is what pulled them into the playoffs, the Texas brand doesn't carry that type of weight :2cents:

Bama was getting in either way. It was easier to justify leaving FSU out than putting Bama in over a Texas team they lost to h2h in the regular season.

Turns out it is Ron DeSantis' fault.

Yeah, that would have been the easiest way out ... we have 4 undefeated champs, everyone else lost a game. We are done. But, FSU doesn't have a QB ... sorry, everyone else lost a game and we have 4 undefeated conference champs.
