A year after LADWP dumped shade balls into the L.A. Reservoir and broke the internet, the little round balls are disappearing from the water.

Typical. The damn things worked great but due to federal regulations, they don't count as the proper type of coverage so they're being removed and more expensive cover is being put in place.Oh. They are gone?
