I've often wondered what college or pro coaches would think about being on a sports board for half a minute. A favorite saying of mine is so appropriate for sports board denizens, myself included - "Never in doubt, often wrong."

Smart told a story of the only time he went to the Georgia/Florida game as a fan was when he had an off week when he was a Dolphins coach with Saban.

“I had never been to a Georgia-Florida game in my life,” Smart said. “I had been as a player, I had been as a coach and I wanted to go as a fan. I flew from Miami to Jacksonville, went to the game and I had recruited a lot of the players that had been playing for Georgia. I enjoyed it a lot. It was a really, really great atmosphere."

Smart was asked if he partook in activities in the parking lot “and all that festiveness going on out there,” in a game that became known as the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.” Smart’s response: “That will remain unknown.”

This part was great ...

“It was different, I’ll just say that,” Smart said Thursday night on the “Bulldogs Live” radio show. “I realized a lot of the people around me didn’t know what the hell they were talking about. I swore I’d never go back.”

Can you imagine being a coach who knows what the hell you are talking about and having to listen to all the nonsense spewed on sports boards? Especially Michigan fans ... sorry, couldn't help myself.

Being the expert I am, I know exactly how that feels. 😔

If you stop and think about it, those guys know so much more than any of us it's not even funny. It has to be painful when you see someone act like they know what they are talking about and don't. For us, we are all for the most part equally ignorant so we just get into petty squabbles. But an expert ... oh, my, that has to be painful.

This, Just In!
Fullback up the middle OR the fade on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1 is stupid.
And Generalissimo Francisco Franco is STILL dead!

I took a friend of mine to an Auburn vs Alabama game who had played for the Redskins as a WR and kick returner (a good 25 years out of the league) and we sat on the 50 yard line in the upper deck so you can see everything developing. It was amazing how fast he saw the open routes, knew when the opportunity was missed, and when the QB made the wrong decisions. I've always felt I was pretty knowledgable having played the game and followed it for all my life but a true pro is on an entirely different level as to what they see and how fast they see it.

I think Romo really showed that to us all in his first year as an announcer. If you want the Manning brothers when they call Monday night football you can see the difference when people who really know what they are talking about talk about the sport.

I have experienced it playing poker against really top poker players - guys who have WSOP bracelets. I should have just handed them my wallet before we started playing. Their knowledge of ranges, betting patterns, human psychology, and game theory makes it so they are playing a different game than you are. You can get lucky and get a good run of cards, but over a long session, they are going to beat you soundly.

Well, except for Ryan Day against scUM. I'd honestly give the average fan a headset over him in The Game

Urban Meyer jokingly (I think) said on BTN last night that Ohio State's offense should be "Throw it to #4 on every play."

If I had the headset, it would be tempting.

Kirby Smarts haircuts suggest that he may be slightly MR though so… Take his comments for what they are worth.

(1) Can you imagine being a coach who knows what the hell you are talking about and having to listen to all the nonsense spewed on sports boards? (2) Especially Michigan fans ... sorry, couldn't help myself.
(1) 100% Correct. 24,000 consecutive days, and I have not received an offer to coach an NCAA Football Team. I always thought it was a lack of marketing , but the reality it's probably a void of knowledge and experience.

(2) Why are you picking on Michigan Fans? :nonono:

When he is that good then why not. He should get minimum 10 targets a game here on out.
