Philly crew @ill @Guy Incognito and co. I have another Eagles question is Gainwell worth picking up? The guy dropped him. I have Penny already and Gainwell would join him on my bench as insurance for if/when Swift goes down.

Any thoughts on this?

Eagles are going to be RBBC for the foreseeable future. Good luck starting the guy that scores big points any given week.

I’m just trying to strengthen my depth. Starters are set. But I agree. More or less looking for insurance for when Swift goes down (who I don’t have).

I go into the office 0 days a week.

Going into an office is overrated and would be non existent if not for existing long lease contracts.

I wonder what the future of office work looks like when those contracts are up.

these things go in cycles. Employees will always push for more flexibility, but employers will want more visibility of their employees.

I remember back to my last year at IBM, there were always these "Think Fridays" where most of the development team would work at home. Other days of the week it was a random number of people, but Fridays were like 90% working from home. Then some Executive was in town and walked through the empty cube farm and that was the end of working at home... although I got a pass since I traveled so much to clients that they didn't know if I was working remote at a client or at home.

I plucked out a nose hair and it's grey. Getting old sucks.

At least in my experience in my field, I think Covid and Zoom proved that most people can work from home just fine and in most cases, produce even better than when in the office.

I get the whole rah rah office thing, and it gives executives something to do — basically monitor people in person. I’m just not sure it’s an effective model anymore.

I've been on projects where everybody has their own set of tasks and you meet up periodically to discuss status and other project management stuff, and others where the team is all working in the same "war room" where communication and collaboration have zero barriers. Those are 2 extreme examples, but I can tell you the "war room" style was always on-time and under budget with the least amount of excuses. There's just no accountability like visually witnessing the effort somebody is putting in.
