A 12 game losing streak will do that. Have always thought he was very overrated. Tried his best to fuck up with the Cubs, the team was just too good to allow him. Rays haven’t missed a beat since he left

Despite the losing streak, they’re still right there for a WC spot, but they were looking good to win the AL West before the streak started.

What’s the longest losing streak ever for a team that made the playoffs? I know the Braves lost 10 straight in 2010 and got in as a wild card

They’ve got a better chance in the AL West.

article from 2014

The 1982 Braves lost 11 games in a row from Aug. 3 through Aug. 13. In fact, their streakiness was uncanny. They lost 19 of 21 games from July 30 through Aug. 18, but then went on a run where they won 13 of their next 15. They would win the NL West with an 89-73 record before being swept in the NLCS by the Cardinals.

The other team to drop 10 straight and then make the postseason? The 1951 Giants. They lost 10 straight from April 19 (second game of doubleheader) through April 29. They were off to a dreadful 2-12 start after that losing streak. They would end up in the World Series after Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World." After that shot, they ended up with a record of 98-59 and the NL pennant. They had several extended stretches of winning, including a 16-game winning streak. They erased a 13-game deficit in the standings in just over six weeks. It's one of the most miraculous comebacks in MLB history.

The Angels are 6-18 since their 21-11 start, and FanGraphs puts their postseason odds at 29.9 percent. They were 81.4 percent as recently as May 15. The Halos are 1 1/2 games behind the sixth and final American League wild card spot, though there are two teams ahead of them in the standings and three teams within 1 1/2 games behind them.

Every year the Angels get one of those neato "WhO cAn StOp ThIs LiNeUp" graphics after winning the off-season.

The Pirates have more recently won a playoff game. They're like the Phillies of the AL

But fuck this guy and fuck Mike Wilbon for melting down after getting his marching orders from a drunken Joe Maddon when the Pirates threw high-and-tight at the Cubs (at a lesser frequency than vice versa, mind you).

The way they’ve squandered the career of the best player in a generation (maybe several generations) is a fucking crime. Mike Trout deserves better. They should force Arte Moreno to send him to the Giants. It’s the only sensible solution.

Trending towards two generational players with Ohtani.

that roster is in rough shape right now. Rendon and Ward are hurt, 2B/SS are black holes, Marsh has cratered in the last couple of weeks and Adell just looks lost against MLB pitching. Not much any manager can do right now. That bullpen has also imploded after a good start.

edit: and because if that wasn't enough, Trout left last night's game with groin tightness.

Hopefully this doesn't impact the video game.

Asked if he wants to manage again Maddon replied "Of course I do, I'm good at it!'

This dude is annoying and pretty full of himself.

He won a WS in Chicago and even they got tired of his weird ass hipster behavior
I honestly thought he was a homosexual in Tampa. Walking around with his frosted tips, ghey glasses and the ever-present shit-eating grin. Dude's an obnoxious douchebag.

He's the Bruce Arians of baseball.
