John Robinson USC Legend Dies

He was a GREAT Coach! Best Halftime comment ever leaving the field of the Alabama @ USC game in 1977 in the Coliseum. The Trojans led 3-0 at the half, and the reporter asked him what he was going to do in the 2nd half. He dead-panned: "Kick another field goal!" and trotted off.

Just thought he was one cool cucumber of a Coach. fyi: I saw him coach 3 games in person: 1978 vs. Alabama @ Legion Field when the Trojans upset #1 Alabama 24-14, 1984 with the Rams @ the Saints W 28-10 and in 1999, I saw his Runnin' Rebels lose 0-24 vs. Iowa State in Las Vegas. So, 2-1 with me in the house!

R.I.P. Coach Robinson.

When I was a kid growing up in the 60's/70's there were my Top 5 football programs.

5) Oklahoma
4) Nebraska
3) Texas
2) Alabama
1) USC

Before the 2019 season, Coach O brought John Robinson as a special consultant. Not much has been mentioned of this, but IMO, he had a big influence of Coach O and the team. He was a special part of the 2019 team.
I saw where he was in Baton Rouge when he died.

RIP Coach

Thanks for all the memories
