I'd be ok with this. Get a load of draft picks and stack the team.
A load of draft picks for Love?I'd be ok with this. Get a load of draft picks and stack the team.

Not happening. And doubt they trade him, he's A-Rod's replacement when Rodgers demands to be traded.
So in that case spent a 1st and a 3rd (or was it 4th) plus a million or so dollars plus whatever extra you had to give Rogers to make him happy after trading up to take a QB...for a 2nd and 3rd?I could see a 2nd and a 3rd rounder for him. I'd take it.
Not so sure yet, but if the trade him for two picks lower than 1 and 3 then it will be a miss for sure. If they move him and don't get at least a 2nd then it's a whiff.lol
Packers front office whiffed on that one.
People need to have patience; not every player is drafted to make an immediate impact and Love was one of them. So was Aaron Rodgers and that pick turned out pretty well. People were calling Rashan Gary a bust right away too and he began to emerge in the second half of year #2 (watch out for him in year #3).Not so sure yet, but if the trade him for two picks lower than 1 and 3 then it will be a miss for sure. Since they have him and will need a backup anyways then I say they should keep him unless blown away. So anything other than a 1st I'd pass. No need to sell him, so don't give him away.
My only issue is Rodgers is so selfish that he won't even take a few series in a 4Q off to let Love see the field. Blowout loss to TPA, blowout wins late in the season against Tenn and Chicago...and Love can't see the field for a few snaps because of the ego on Aaron.People need to have patience; not every player is drafted to make an immediate impact and Love was one of them. Love wasn't the backup QB last season, Tim Boyle was.My only issue is Rodgers is so selfish that he won't even take a few series in a 4Q off to let Love see the field.
I think we all know that Rodgers goes out via injury. Probably sometime in the next 20 games, if the team can't protect him.A load of draft picks for Love?

^This. The guy's value is lower, not higher, than when he was drafted. If he were to be traded now, it would signal that there's something wrong with him.The Packers' drafting of Love was a development project. The concept and conversation of trading him now is idiotic. He's not ready to be an NFL QB yet. The Packers would not get sufficient trade value for him now and the team trading for him would not get an NFL-ready quarterback. Love needs another year or two before such a conversation starts making sense.
Tim Boyle was the Packers #2 QB last year. I expect Love to be the #2 this year and probably will get a couple looks in those scenarios. My only issue is Rodgers is so selfish that he won't even take a few series in a 4Q off to let Love see the field. If GB could showcase Love a bit to see what he can do, they could likely flip him for something if they want. But him never seeing a single NFL snap means there is very little chance of getting an even return for what they paid. If Aaron weren't an idiot he would be talking up Love and get him shipped out for some picks that could help him win games.
The Packers won't trade him. It would indicate the GM made a poor decision.I think we all know that Rodgers goes out via injury. Probably sometime in the next 20 games, if the team can't protect him.

Backups are skipped in order to get time for the future pretty regularly. Double so when there is no pre-season to get him field experience. Should have been a priority for them, it's not like they had to protect his red-shirt status.Love wasn't the backup QB last season, Tim Boyle was.
I don't think that's it. It's that the Packers don't generally trade players as much as some other teams. If the guy gets a shot and looks good, he'll likely be re-signed. If not, he'll be cut. At this point, it's impossible to say where on the scale Jordan Love is, at this point- is he closer to Dwayne Haskins or Jarred Stidham? The Packers won't trade him. It would indicate the GM made a poor decision.
One underrated aspect of player development is confidence. Players need to build confidence in themselves that they can play well at the NFL level. Particularly at QB, if you put a QB into games too soon into his career it can ruin his confidence. I like that the Packers slow-play QBs.Backups are skipped in order to get time for the future pretty regularly. Double so when there is no pre-season to get him field experience. The word here is that Love didn't look sharp in practices last season but the team wants to give him more reps this preseason and hope he improves.Backups are skipped in order to get time for the future pretty regularly.
