Since taking over at Ohio, Ryan Day is:
2-4 in Bowl games
1-3 vs Michigan
1-7 vs CFP top 5
0-3 vs SEC

Sucks that Michigan can't score this year. Going to be hard to make it 1-4, but let's hope he keeps up the good work.

Maybe he doesn't know how to smack people around like Urban did.

He should embrace the gray beard. Maybe it will make him look more wisdomer and players will play harder for him.

At some point Day, Knowles, Kelly need to have some balls and stop calling big games scared. Play to win.

You are given all the resources, talents, facilities, money that you need to succeed.

It’s great that you beat up every B1G opponent besides Michigan and Oregon. But the team is soft in big games and that needs to be fixed ASAP.

Rivalry games are a different beast and I suspect Michigan will play lights out this year.

Defensively we may play lights out. Offensively, I don't think we can play lights out. We don't have a QB. We AVERAGE almost 3 turnovers a game.

Michigan's offense is one of the worst I've seen and we have had some bad offenses in the past.

I'm surprised Ohio State didn't blitz more. Oregon has had some problem picking up blitzes this year.

Problem is he will probably still make the playoff. I'd be very surprised if we lost to Michigan this year but im close to hoping for a upset just so Day gets fired.

We kept hearing about OSU's OL/DL.

Ohio State had 2 big runs at the end of the 1st quarter. Outside of those, they had 31 attempts for 71 yards. Oregon was the more physical team up front, and the QB/WRs were a push.

Oregon finished with 5.0 YPC and Ohio State finished with 4.3.

And as you noted, that Ohio State number is helped by 2 big runs. And Oregon did that without Burch who's an NFL caliber player IMO. Huge game for Josh Conerly last night.

DL is the same as it's been for the last 3/4 years now, they can't get pressure against better teams. Larry Johnson Sr needs to go.

Best case scenario for us is it playing like the 2017 game, though I'm not convinced our current coaching staff can gameplan as well as they did in '17. O'Korn had wide open receivers all game and missed them. The secondary is going to have to step up and the DL is going to have to have a huge performance

I famously called him a high school coach when he took over, and it took (how many years?) before others are starting to catch up

...

Unfortunately, we hired our own since then.

I wouldn’t go as far as to call him a HS coach but he’s not a national title caliber coach that should be running a program like Ohio State . He’d be a nice coach for like a Purdue type.
