Last time I was in Lawrence for a game (1998?) there were pieces of concrete falling on the ground from underneath the bleachers above.
We bought good seats for $5 each and parked in a house's front yard across the street for another $5.

Total shithole.

The stands are a loooong way from the playing field. Truthfully, the whole stadium sucks. It's a horrible stadium for a school the size of Kansas to have. But those people accept shitty football just as long as the basketball team is good. I wouldn't live in Lawrence, Kansas if they gave it to me.

This was always gonna happen the moment they ever got a pulse. Same dudes camp out for basketball tickets a week + out.

Can confirm when I went to games back in the 2000's. This time of year it'd feel pretty great though.

KU definitely needs a new football stadium. A long string of incompetent AD's (and the subsequent nuking of Kansas football post-Mangino) really fucked things up.

Big name schools think it is beliw them to hire a successful coach from a lower level school like Kansas did. Guy has done a hell of a job imho. Diamonds in the rough.
 
I suppose I am one of the few people who actually like KU's Memorial Stadium.
It has charm.
