Basically, Disney and DirectTV are in a pissing contest over fees and Disney is threatening to cut the cord before the first Monday Night football game and the beginning of the College Football season. Same story different carrier it seems every year and it's always fun to see people panic and frantically drop their carrier and find another out of fear.

This happened to my parents with Charter a few years back and my mom was calling me every other day and I was like they will settle don't worry about it.

The end result though is there is about to be a lot of cord cutting so there should be some nice pickups for HULU and YouTube TV.

I'm excited to go back to YoutubeTV for football season. I've had Fubo since April so I could watch Guardians games but that team fucking blows so no point in paying $30 extra for Bally anymore. Oh yeah, fuck Bally also.

Yep.

DirectTV is one of the most common offenders of these disputes.

It hasn't happened to me in a long time, but I remember being caught up in a Cox Cable/ABC dispute years ago. The nice thing was that ABC was over the air broadcast so I just used a tv antenna to watch ABC games.
ESPN being cable, satellite, or streaming would certainly have a bigger impact.

I've been on HULU since PS Vue shut down in 2020.
No complaints thus far on this end.

I actually tried to play a movie on Hulu the other day and it was only available to subscribers with Hulu Live TV, so I was thinking about it. I tried it out back in 2020 also but wasn't a huge fan of the interface. Is it still the same as it was then?

I'm still using the ROKU Stick I got to stream PS Vue back in the day.

Nothing has changed for me since subscribing to Hulu in that regard, other than things like ESPN+ being added to the bundle since I changed.

Before Bally came in and fucked everything up, Vue was the pinnacle of streaming TV. If they had only tried to market it, it could've been a cash cow.

I'm not much of a tv watcher other than sports. When it came to streaming, PS Vue had the best sports package and that's why I was with them.
To get the same sports package back in the day was over $200 through Cox cable. When I called Cox and told them to shove it, they'd sent me snail mail and call me a couple times a month to offer me some one year deal at a reduced rate. I knew once that year expired they were gonna jack it right back up over $200.

I did my due diligence on other streaming services and Hulu was the closest thing I could find to PS Vue when I switched.
I stream the mid-tier Hulu package and have everything I need. Especially once they bundled ESPN+.

The nice thing about streaming is it's month-to-month. You can quit/switch services at any time. They don't have a monopoly like cable/satellite does. They have to be competitive.

I'm with you. If it weren't for live sports and local news, I'd have no use for live TV at this point. Hulu is like $10 more than Youtube, but it has the ESPN+ bundle which annoyingly carries some things I'd like to watch from time to time. I may do a trial run of it to see how I like it. I really love the Youtube interface though. It also seems to be the smoothest one in terms of any kind of buffering while scrolling.

I went ahead and got the Disney+ bundle awhile back. Not a Disney guy, but regular Hulu and ESPN+ with it was a no brainer. A friend signed me into his YouTubeTV account. Hope I am set.

I've only used ESPN+ for college baseball. You can catch all the NCAA Regionals on it, where those games aren't carried by ESPN like Super Regionals and the CWS are.
