He wouldn't sign on the dotted line because his asks were too much and unacceptable. At some point we have to draw a line and just say no. That's on Fritz more than Tech. His demands just weren't feasible.

Besides, there is no reason to believe Key can't thrive. He loves the school and they players would do anything for him. He's already cleaned house on the offense on day 1 and will be hiring several coaches in the coming weeks. This guy has more than his pocketbook at stake here, this is HIS school and he is determined to see it succeed.

If he can squeeze 4 wins out of what was handed to him to work with, he will do fine and will be in for the long haul.

I like Key. My biggest hope is that his contract is decent baseline but with extra money for incentives. Give him a chance to earn the $$$$$$
