Morning all

Busy weekend. Friday we got a lot of snow, saturday morning had to clear said snow. Saturday night went to my sisters for christmas with my mom and her side of family (aunt, two cousins and their spouses)

Pretty much finished Christmas shopping. Still have a few little odds and ends left, but otherwise we're pretty well set up.

Had a nice weekend. Found a drop-off program on Saturday morning for Ham, she got to paint a birdhouse and we got three hours of a break from her. Think we'll be putting her in that program next month. Also did the Sesame Place Christmas event yesterday. Tank looks like he's starting to warm up to grown adults in muppet costumes (he already watches Sesame Street a lot, but it's a bit different since most of the muppets are shorter than the people in the show).

Parents: it was nice to get away from the kids

also parents: why don't you want kids? They're such a joy

agreement yes GIF by South Park

I’ve heard this a lot from adults without kids before. And they have a point.

It’s a weird thing where both can be true…one really can’t understand it until one is in it.

(I know you’re in it, and get it….just riffing)

I'm not in it, I don't have kids

speaking of kids, I guess BB is nine months out from another.

Morning all.

We just got a lawyer for the accident Friday when we got rear ended.

Kids are great, but kids also need time to be themselves and be around other kids. Just like adults need time to themselves to be around other adults.

Plus, we were able to finish up Christmas shopping without having to sneak out in the dead of night or try to smuggle Amazon boxes into the basement.

weekend was good.

went ice skating yesterday...I can ice skate but I am not great at it...are hockey skates harder to use than regular skates?

I think I have my Christmas shopping all done, but won't know for sure until I get them all wrapped. I have a list, but not sure everything has arrived yet.

Trying my best to make everything feel normal Christmas-y this year, but I'm finding it difficult to drag myself out of a hole emotionally. Yesterday was better. Baked some cookies and decorated some gingerbread house. Tree is up and mostly decorated.

there was a stretch of a couple years where Christmas was just miserable for my family in that someone got sick or died right around the holiday and we just didn't want to deal with the whole family thing...so we went to Mexico one year, went to Arizona another...it was nice to break up the whole "Christmas is too depressing" kind of thing
