I can't remember the year but it was Minnesota at Wisconsin college hockey. Wisconsin had Mike Richter and CuJo on the same roster. Herb Brooks and Badger Bob were the coaches., I believe. Dane County Coliseum. Intense rivalry between 2 great teams. Seats were along the boards in the corner. Intense action for 3 periods.
I think the best rivalry Minnesota and Wisconsin have in college or pro is college hockey! It's the only rivalry where both teams have been winners.
I was at the Eastern Conference final game in 1995 (the year Jordan returned later in the year) where Nick Anderson stole the ball form Jordan to ice it.
For the no frills dump that the old Magic arena was it could get loud....so much damn louder than the new dump. I had heard it ear splitting before....but when Nick stole that ball was a roar I’ll never forget.
Im glad I was not about to score tickets to any of those finals games against Houston ha.
