What do you think the odds that any star players come back for their senior year now that they'll be able to get paid? Say you're Trevor Lawrence, sand are having fun in college, winning championships. Now that you might be able to make $750k or so (just making up a number, not sure what it'll be), would you consider staying in school if a team like Washington gets the first pick?

Every team with a first pick is going to be a bad team, but there are just some franchises that are dysfunctional.

I don't know what you are talking about. Washington is playing win. Rivera said so himself

It was just an example. I'm not sure the Jets are in any better position the next 5 years, either

I think the main effect will be on the transfer portal. Basically every player gets to be a free agent once.

Is a salary cap in our future?

Is there going to be anything in place to prevent a LeBron James Miami Heat scenario for CFB?

Don't think so.

Sort of like that now with high schoolers, though. Kids talk to each other, and try to get other stars to come with them.

Going to be problematic. Say you have a Trevor Lawrence type QB, who battles for 3 years but isn't surrounded by great talent, so decides for his Senior season he wants to be apart of an all-star team. Connects with some star WR from College A, who talks to a star RB from College B and they all decide to go to College C.

And are coaches able to recruit players then already committed to other schools? Because if so, I am forgetting recruiting Freshman and going the Lincoln Riley road with Oklahoma QB's and just going around and seeing who is doing well and recruit their players selling that all-star team sales pitch.

You might have some instances of things like that, but you'd have to find a school that would take them (if you're known as a school that takes in 5-10 transfers, what's the likelihood that you can recruit well?). Plus, you'd have to find enough players that are really good that don't care about throwing a middle finger to their coaches and teammates.

Truth be known. I'd take ANY second teamer from Alabama's D right now. Think about it. A kid is riding the pine behind someone who has proven NFL talent and he knows he's capable of playing NFL someday too IF he can just get some playing time and prove himself. Example: Oklahoma walks in and says "Come to Norman where you will start and you can enjoy the $$$ you'll make from these crazy Okies around here who are dying to get over the hump and win a NC. Ask Jalen Hurts if we treated him right. And don't worry; none of the $$$ will come from those assholes at Big Red Sports Cars". I picked Alabama and Oklahoma as an example but you get my drift.

Also, for people concerned about players "LeBroning" it, how often does it happen in the NFL? It's a lot harder to do something like that when you have 22 starters. You need to convince a lot of people to go along with you. Not a couple

You mean like the NCAA allowing Nike to buy an entire athletic department and none winning a title? Everything works out.
