Name the game your team went into, and you were thinking there is no way we can win this game. NO WAY IN HELL WE WIN THIS GAME. BUT YOUR TEAM GETS THE "W".

Name the game your team went into, and you were thinking there is no way we can lose this game. NO WAY IN HELL WE LOSE THIS GAME. BUT AFTER THE GAME, AN "L" IN THE LOSS COLUMN.

I guess the closest time I came to the first category would be 02 National Championship game against Miami but I hadn't ruled out the possibility of a win.

I was way overconfident for the 06 natty against Florida, especially when Ginn housed the opening kickoff, then they got smashed

Any time the Hokies played Florida State, I knew it would be a loss. A surprise here or there. But the win at Ohio State had to be the biggest one.

Oh crap, well too many to mention. Homecoming against Temple in 1998 especially. Temple winless and playing 20 freshman and VT undefeated with a big lead, then proceeds to lose. We won't even talk about JMU and Old Dominion.

2013 Oklahoma State W

December 1, 2007 sPitt L (I still want To bawl thinking about it)

2014 Russell Athletic Bowl: The battle of who has the worst QB Cole Stoudt or Trevor Knight. OU fans won that bet
2011 Orange Bowl: I was feeling good until ...

2013 Baylor. We beat the shit out of them but it was supposed to be all rape state. I wasn't expecting us to lose but it was supposed to be a nail biter and it was a 30 point blowout.

And then

2013 against the squares. It too was supposed to be a blowout. The rape win happened over Thanksgiving and the squat fans were like fuck Bob Stoops and his mediocre bullshit. It went well early-we had an 80 yard touchdown run and it was called back because big 12 refs. Late in the game when it was on the line we got an interception but it was ruled an implementation because big 12 refs. They scored a play or two later and went onto a bowl victory that was the difference between Joe Mixon going there or USC. It was also the difference between us finally establishing dominance in the state and them firing Stoops and probably fucking up the next hire while Gundy spends the next decade shitting on their grave. Considering how things played out the refs fucking us in one game is really big now.

the most influential game in modern cfb history.

2017 @ Maryland. Too many hopes and dreams were crushed in notable past OoC games to be optimistic.

2011 @ UAB. I don’t wanna talk about it.

2012 against Oklahoma

2009 against Uconn

I'll go with two games that are from the early 2000s.

The one where I had a ton of confidence in Iowa winning but got totally embarrassed was the Orange Bowl vs USC after the 2002 season. Iowa was loaded with talent (although the most recognizable names were freshmen and sophomores). It was a matchup between the top two Heisman candidates and we thought Brad Banks deserved it (I said thought).

The game I will go with where Iowa should not have won is the Capital One Bowl vs LSU after the 2004 season. Now, Iowa's defense was loaded, but injuries plagued the offense. They were down to their 4th string RB for the game. Iowa, as a team, would have been 30-something leading individual rusher in the country. Drew Tate was a gun-slinger and Iowa was not that great at passing. Nick Saban was coaching his last game at LSU before going to Miami. LSU had the #3 pass defense in the country. So, even with the strong defense, Iowa should not have won and it ended in what is considered one of the greatest plays in Iowa history.

2006 @ Auburn. Had lost 4 of 5 leading into the game including to both Vandy and Kentucky. Auburn still had a shot at a NCG bid. We blew em out of the water, and closed the season with 3 straight upset wins. Other two against GA Tech and VA Tech

2019 South Carolina. They were terrible. We we a playoff contender. Turnover city. Outgained em nearly 3-1, but Fromm had about a million interceptions and we lost in double OT after a missed Blankenship kick.

I don’t know about that. But it sure did suck watching that disaster.
