ND v. Wake postponed due to COVID

Just make all the guys get covid now

I think the likely hood of having them above the 5% threshold is probably at about 5% IMO. They are going to start testing daily 21 days out. So if there is a positive all those players, while they can't practice, will be able to play. The nfl has had huge successes with this.
I'm not following. I am sure we agree that testing doesn't keep people from getting it. Like all the other schools where players have gotten it, some B1G players will get infected. It's almost a guarantee. If more than 5% get it, they have to shut down all practices and games for a minimum of 7 days. The minute someone is positive, they are out of 21 days. Again, they are more stringent than the CDC, and they don't have extra weeks for moving games around.

I'm saying the likelihood of them having a 5% positivity rate will be lower IMO than that of other leagues testing because of the daily testing. If you start testing 21 days before your first game, if anyone has a positive test, they'll be able to play from week 1. You'll know upfront what you're dealing with, instead of the unknown. I think it'll look much like what the nfl looks like, which has been a zero positivity rate since the season began, in terms of players testing positive.

That's where our testing SHOULD be a big benefit. Unless a bunch of players went out and partied, and got it, it shouldn't spread within the team. You'll know if you have it 15 minutes after you walk in door each morning
They are college age.

They are college age.
I know. I think most will be responsible. As much as they are college aged guys, they've still got a bond on that team. They don't want to let down teammates by being selfish

I have two sons in college. I am not sure you are aware of how prevalent it is on campuses and how it spreads. These guys live together, live with other students. There is a reason that Clemson, LSU and others have had dozens of people test positive ... they are 18-22 year olds doing 18-22 year old shit. Testing isn't going to stop the spread outside of the locker room, and I don't think the spread has been in the locker rooms, it's been where they live and party. Hell, I hope you are right ... I want a full season with all the top teams playing. But the key isn't testing daily, it's will they agree to shut down their private lives for the next 4 months.

I'm well aware of all those things. I'm of the belief that testing daily will help mitigate that somewhat. If you test daily and can get the results within 15 minutes, that's a much better return than getting it 24 hours later. Say an athlete contracts on a random Tuesday, they get tested Wednesday, go through full practice, result comes back Thursday that they have it, then you have that position group at risk of getting it because they are around them all day without knowing. I do think there will be positives, but I also think the clusters that we are seeing like at ND will not be as prevalent because you can test daily and you're less likely to have an outbreak(5% positivity).

I don't think they are going to play this week either because they just had 18 positive tests and 25 players in quarantine.
