Nebraska announces Memorial stadium renovations that will decrease seating to 75-80k but it closes in the stadium more and give the students the south section that can be really loud now.

Decrease seating, increase perceived value of the fan experience, increase prices, price out the average fan.

Thought I read Florida was doing something similar.

Reducing seats, huh? Must mean volleyball season is over, no need for so many otherwise empty seats.

do you really want me to post pics of the game that i took a few weeks ago? my whole family could have slept comfortably in all those empty chairs

In 100 degree heat against Directional University? I mean, if you want.

is pricing going up? Trev complained that we were too expensive a month ago
Oh idk in this circumstance. I would have to look, but IIRC I read an article that covered the University of Florida (at least I think it was Florida) that was doing something similar, decreasing seats to increase fan experience, but the article said the prices would likely go up due to the loss of revenue from the additional seats it had before.

Interested to see how that turns out. In the major leagues the "fan experience" line usually means they are taking out seats to add suites.

Dang, losing 12% of your seating is wild. Why would they do that?

Yeah the article I read said something about removing typical stadium/bench seats and adding seats with padding to make it more comfortable and spacious hence the enhanced fan experience.

Well, it significantly reduces the number of tickets the AD has to beg boosters to buy and donate to poors in a shameless effort to keep their illegitimate sell-out streak going.

Maybe he will build a hospital near the field, I hear that works for some schools. :hide:
