New Head Coaches who will have a better record than their school did last year.

Brian Kelly/LSU last year 6-7
Lincoln Riley/USC last year 4-8
Kalen DeBoer/Washington last year 4-8

That's it.
Kelly and Riley’s situations are going to be REALLY interesting this year imo.
Personally I think Kelly is the better HC but Riley did get some talent to follow him out west.

Riley got skill position players to come out that way offensively, but their OL is still a huge question mark. I know we live in the age of the portal, but Helton's 2020 class in rearing it's ugly head in terms of depth.. BK walked into a MUCH better situation outside QB which is his thing (like Rileys).

Since WWII, Oklahoma has had 11 new Head Coaches.
When you average all of them out, the percentage works out to a 7-5 to 8-4 season average for 1st year Head Coaches

With a best being undefeated by Barry Switzer
The most wins by Lincoln Riley
But tempered with a 3 win John Blade and a 5 win Howard.

I just think these schools just have too much, not to do better with a better coach.

The other schools, the new guys are not known well, or some teams would have to win more than 11 games, which seems unlikely.

Harsin had better.

Sonny Dykes @ TCU (5-7)
Brent Pry @ VT (6-7)
Mike Elko @ Duke (3-9)
Mike MacIntyre @ FIU (1-11)
Jim Mora @ UConn (1-11)
Sonny Cumbie @ LA Tech (3-9)

All have some promise imo.

I think USC is being setup to fail this year. Preseason expectations are insane for a team that was 4-8. Lincoln brought some talent but not that much. Sure Pac12 South isn't that great but USC seems like an 8-4 or 7-5 team. Perhaps 9-3 if everything goes well for them.

I could see Brian Kelly failing hilariously. Or at least taking too long to succeed, especially at LSU where he's up against some of the best teams in the sport vs. ND where they have less than stellar schedules on the regular.
