Who'd a thunk that betwixt the Cubs, Reds and Brewers that they would have scored 4 runs in 6 games?

This really is a fucked up year.

An NL Central team was playing in every NL Wild Card Round matchup. Reds, Brewers and Cubs were swept, Cardinals have a chance tonight, but the Padres offense got rolling last night.

Thankfully the lone NL Central team that didn't make it decided to stink so bad they'll get Kumar Rocker barring any rule changes instead of accidentally-ing their way into the playoffs and getting trounced.

The NL Central was really a bastion of mediocrity all season. The Cubs got off to a 10-2 start, and they were .500 after that. Reds, Brewers and Cards were all hovering around .500. It's possible that the NL Central might have been the worst division in the NL despite getting 4 teams into the playoffs.

All 3 AL Central teams were bounced in the first round.

If the Padres win tonight, all 4 DS series will be between divisional opponents.

It's official. 7 or the 8 Wild Card Round matchups included either an NL Central or an AL Central team. The central divisions went 0-7 in those series. That's impossible.
