No NL DH

Never met a fan of an AL team that had much sense to begin with.

"Hey union, you know all those old guys that can hit but can't play defense? Well we can keep them around to drive up contract prices." would be about all they have to tell the union.
Well, yeah, but they're going to get something out of the players. The union obviously loves the DH and wants more expensive players on rosters. The owners making it a bargaining chip is a smart move by them.

My bad, I thought you were implying the union would ask for the owners to give something up to get this. Yeah the owners are going to get something from the union for this. Probably nothing to improve the game but something to put more money in the pockets of the owners.

The funny thing is, I don't think it's quite as big of a chip as it was, say, 10 years ago. More than a few teams have moved away from a full-time DH, and I think it's a trend that's not likely to turn around.
