Ohio State started with a big game early last season and, as OD will remind us, struggled mightily against Oregon.

ND looking to prove they belong in the elite club with a brand new coach and QB.

Ohio State favored pretty big in this one (-16). Gotta see if their defense has improved under the new DC.

I think Ohio State wins this but doesn't cover. ND is physical enough and there are enough first game miscues to keep this game close.

Can’t disagree. The spread has had me worried for a while but anything goes week 1.

difference is that Oregon has speed, while the average hoopla poster is faster than the fastest Notre Dame DB

Ohio State 63
Notre Dame 3 (kick a FG with 15 seconds left in the game)

It doesn’t matter. Ohio State might start 11-0, but they have zero shot at making the playoffs since Jim Harbaugh OWNS Ryan Day

Worst coach that is considered good by most in the country and every year OSU doesn’t fire him is a year that I lose more respect for the OSU football program

We can make a bet for that game if you are so confident

Every L to scUM does that to me, and I grew up in the 90s. There ain't much left lol

My brother in law is a huge tOSU fan and it wrecked him, I was like “dude, you guys win every year.” He didn’t care. I think it’s the only game he’s really looking forward to this season.

He hasn’t had the defense to win a title. If the #1 offense in college football is overrated, sign me up. Hopefully this new D coordinator is the real deal, this defense has been a letdown year after year

Once you are rich, you want more and more money. It’s just greed. I was disappointed but knowing that team compete couldn’t for a title anyway made it hurt a little less

Not even in 2019 when they were 4th in the nation in scoring defense and gave up only 4.1 yards per play? Yeah they lost to Clemson but they held a Clemson team averaging 43.9 points per game to 29. They held Jonathan Taylor to 2.6 YPC in their first meeting with Wisky (though he did run for 148 yards on 7.4 YPC in the B1G Championship). They shut out an 11-3 Cinci team. They never gave up more than 30 points, which isn't easy to do in this era of college football.

One thing that OSU does seem to be lacking in the last couple of years is a big playmaker on the DL... usually they've had the Bosa brothers or Chase Young. They didn't have a single player with 6+ sacks last year.

If you're willing to bet that Michigan is going to beat Ohio State in the Shoe this year, then ya kinda do
Ok, I'll donate to your charity, you can Venmo me 500 bucks when Jim Harbaugh beats Ryan Day. It's gonna happen. Harbaugh OWNS Day.

UGA had an all time great defense last year and the leading sacker only had 6.5 sacks.

fair, but UGA had seven players with 7+ TFL... OSU had one. And even with the lack of big sack totals, UGA was 8th in sacks per game (3.3). OSU had 2.8

Granted Michigan didn't get many sacks outside of Ojabo/Hutchinson, but they both had over 10 sacks apiece. My point was, OSU has been lacking a dominant presence like they had with the Bosas/Chase Young that could make a huge difference in a game. Hutchinson and Ojabo played a huge role in the OSU win last year. They will be sorely missed
