Dillon Gabriel transfering to Oregon! Great way to start year 1 in the B1G!

On Wednesday someone posted on X that DG started following a bunch of Oregon players so figured he was locked in with them.

Congrats

Solid experience at QB1 headin to the BIG.

Smart move

I think you guys will be happy with his replacement.

Interesting considering that Tennessee has been relying on transfer QBs as well.
I think picking up transfer QBs is the way to go. No real risk.

This is getting more junior college like. Won't have 'em but two years max...or one if they shine.

All 3 QBs at the Heisman ceremony tonight are transfers. Some posters have to remember it's 2023 not 2003.

This definitely seems to be the way the QB position is going.

We haven't started seeing it happen as much with the other positions. At least not high level ones jumping around and being super successful elsewhere

The QB position is the one position where depth isn't really important (unless someone gets injured). Depth is better built in HS recruiting.

It’s happening because an established qb is getting about 2 million to move for a year.

Good luck in a real league that plays defense, well except for some of those PAC teams they added

Their 5* QB just hit the portal after news of this pickup.

This is the state of college football right now.

Those saying you must get you talent through recruiting have lost the plot.

Yep. It's looking like there are gonna be teams doing this every year instead of ever developing their own QB
