It never pays and is always risky to be an early adopter of new medications. I never opt for a new drug. Do you?

Have you or anyone you know tried Ozempic, Moujaro or Wegovy? You might want to give them a head's up.

From the CNN article:

The lawsuit claims that the two companies, Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly, “knew of the association between the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists and the risk of developing severe gastrointestinal issues, including gastroparesis and gastroenteritis.”

Their “failure to disclose information that they possessed regarding the association between the use of GLP-1 receptor agonists and the risk of developing severe gastrointestinal issues, including gastroparesis and gastroenteritis, rendered the warnings for this medication inadequate,” it continues.

Vomiting and abdominal pain are both listed as possible adverse events on prescribing information for Ozempic and Mounjaro, and the lawsuit does not say whether Bjorklund was diagnosed with gastroparesis — stomach paralysis.

tbf, those commercials usually list off a million side-effects. I just assume high probability of death is one of those.

They missed a few disclosures, hence the lawsuit. I still don't get the thinking of people who hop on the bandwagon to take a new fad drug when all of the potential side effects have not been recognized or detected.

In this instance, it's vanity. Even if they ran a commercial right now that said you have a high probability of losing a limb, I bet you'd still have people signing up in droves, if it helped them lose weight quickly.

No sympathy from me. People always want some magic pill to make them lose weight. It never works and there’s always a lawsuit a couple years later because of horrible side effects. Just put down the doughnuts and go for a fucking walk, fatty.

I guess we'll start seeing and hearing less Ozempic commercials.

Next, I hope something happens so they take that singing Jardiance pig's commercials off the air.

Ozempic had one of the funniest commercials ever. Huge fat actor (don’t know him by name) talks about having diabetes. So he dresses up in a warm-up suit drives his classic sports car to the park where he exercises for 30 seconds running around some cones and doing a couple curls with a band.

Then the guy orders a large parfait and large vanilla latte. 😂

Edit: I found it.

LOL. He was on the show about the fat couple, "Mike & Molly". The one who wasn't Melissa McCarthy and whose career evidently stayed jogging in place. :rolleyes2:

This encapsulates what's wrong with health in America perfectly. "Don't like being a fat fuck who has diabetes, colitis and chronic bad breath? Then take this pill and don't sweat any need for a change in lifestyle!" Then, when the pill doesn't work, or there are nasty side effects, just move onto the next miracle cure pill. And/or sue the pharma company.

I haven’t been in the US since traveling through to Europe, therefore I’m happy to say I have no idea what this is about. However, I’ll be in California and Florida later this month and will get caught up on the bullshit then.

Why do you think he's warning people to not take the pills? He wants those ladies to stay plump.

They aren't pills (former pharmacist).

These medications have been in short supply for quite some time since doctors started prescribing them for off-label use (weight loss). Sounds like that problem may be short-lived.

Rybelsus is. And oral formulations are around the corner for Ozempic and Wegovy. In any event, it’s about lazy fatasses who want a cure for their lifestyle choices while putting in the least amount of work possible.

You'll overdose on bullshit in California.
