$14 mil for one season, after they paid him $1.1 million this past season? I'd say that all but confirms that the Patriots will be aggressively targeting what they hope to be their next franchise QB in the draft.

Yep Cam is washed up, this is just a signing "if they don't find anyone else to play this position" signing.

This doesn't sound like the Pats draft strategy but I wouldn't be surprised to see them trade up to get their QB in the draft...either way I would be surprised if they didn't select a QB in the 1st this year
 
The devil they know.

Good in the locker room, teammates like him, coaches like him.

Never made excuses last year. Didn't throw teammates under the bus.

Didn't get a real training camp because of COVID.

Caught COVID and missed games.

I think he's better this year. Maybe not SB better but better.

Think of how many Brian Hoyers or even Jimmy Garoppolos you could hire for that much money though.

The patriots seem to be signing every free agent available but they still don't have a QB. Maybe they're going to trade up and draft one?

My brother told me the Pats signed two TEs. I jokingly responded with "makes sense... Cam can't throw > 20 yards so they might as well sign guys who can't run > 20 yards."
 
Now he's going to get Darnold for a 2nd and a bag of balls.
 
49ers are hot for Mitch Trubisky and I'm rooting for them to get him. :hope:
 
If the Pats crash and burn this year, you gotta wonder how many years Bill has left.

I'm sure he desperately wants to win one w/o Tom.
 
The Pats have the ammo to go get a QB in round 1, but usually teams get the QB and let him go for a year or two before they start spending.

Maybe Bill is just impatient.
 
Great decision and they can go ahead and give them the Super Bowl trophy and Cam the MVP. Head to Vegas boys and get rich.
