Possible USAF plane about to crash in Lincoln, NE - stuck landing gear

Pilot lands plane with wheels down? WTF is going on up there in Corn land?
 
Haven't heard if it took off from there and id'd that the gear wouldn't retract and came back or what. if that is the case then the danger is that the gear tries to retract, hangs, and then doesn't lock back down. Also it would be coming in likely over its max landing weight and could cause frame damage on touchdown.

Not the most dangerous, not a walk in the park, something the pilots train for. I still don't want to be on that plane.

With that said....just going by the OP title....they weren’t sure if it was an Air Force bird or not?
Also, about to crash is a bit presumptive, no?

I've seen some pretty funny shit over the years but nothing has ever topped this....nothing. Whomever did this is a genius at trolling. Never before has a newscast been so thoroughly duped as this one. After it happened for years my friends and I would jokingly call each other by these made up names when the opportunity presented itself. LOL Good times...

Yes, it was a rare example when something mildly racist could still be funny and we could all have a laugh. Gotta love the broadcast saying “we have learned the NTSB has confirmed these are the names of the pilots”, as if that was even a remote possibility.
