Just saw Earth Wind & Fire.

I didn’t know Maurice had passed, recognized Phillip Bailey right of the bat. Original bassist and drummer are still kicking too.

Very good show. Band tight as fuck and the sound & lights were top notch. I should know, my face was in the speaker.

Unfuck that cockeyed picture, mister!

I have seen....

Aaron Lewis - not bad.
Sevendust - not bad.
Eric Chruch - I'm not a big EC fan (wife wanted to go), but it was entertaining.
Garth Brooks - this was in memorial stadium (his most recent concert) and it was pretty sweet.
Maroon 5 - this was back in high school, took my HS sweetheart to see them. Not a fan of their music, but they have a really cool light show display.
Hollywood Undead - the venue sucked and the order of their playlist was weird imo, but not a bad show at all.

Those are all from the past 5 years or so, might be forgetting some. We had Darius Rucker tickets at one point that we won from the radio, but decided not to go. It was the most packed concert I had seen up until Garth Brooks, so much so that the wife actually said she didn't want to stay... and me being the generous husband and also hating crowds was like... 'it's cool, we can go'. Fuckin smooth.

This list makes me sad.

lol why?

Honestly, I don't like concerts. It is crowded (don't like that), the music has about a 99% chance that it will sound worse than it does on the radio/cd, it's expensive, it's usually obnoxiously loud, I always find someone I want to beat the hell out of because they are slop drunk.... I don't see much of a purpose. I was actually having a conversation with someone about it a week or so ago, they kept saying it was about the 'experience'. Well when I look at it, I see expensive tickets/merch/drinks/etc, crowds, worse sounding music of songs on the radio - I don't see where the good experience is.

Ya, you are wrong.

You are going to the wrong shows.

1) If you are seeing a concert in a sports stadium, it had better be a living legend, and it better be a tough pill to swallow.

2) If it sounds worse, the band is shit.

3) Earplugs. Duh.

4) If you cannot move freely, the venue is shit, over bloated, and an overrated band.

5) If the tickets are expensive, the band is probably shit and overrated af.

6) If it's not an experience, you have no one to blame but yourself.

I seen Cheech & Chong in 2010 front row. They opened with the scene when they were "I think we're parked man" in the Impala from Up in Smoke! Fucking loved it!

Best concert I’ve ever been to was Steve Miller Band and I got laid on the back lawn.

I also saw Living Color right before they broke big in a small venue and that was great.

Saw the Stones in a stadium and can’t say it was fantastic but glad I saw them live.

Went to Guns and Roses and it was horrible.…worst band live ever.

ACDC in middle school blew my mind but let’s face it I was 12.

Regret I never saw the Eagles or Fleetwood as I think those would have been fantastic.

The most nervous I’ve ever been was at a Public Enemy concert…love them but white kids had no business being there. I felt eyeballs all night and they didn’t seem friendly.

During the late-mid 60s thru mid 70s I lived live music. So many nights, so many bands. Got to see some bands that made it big before they broke out. REO, Cheap Trick(when they were still known as Fuse), Styx. Just some highlights

Pink Floyd twice Pulse was the greatest concert by far
Alice Cooper
Heart
Stones
The Who
Big Brother
Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes
Jefferson Airplane
Charlie Daniels opening for Loggins and Messina

and on and on...

Still hit the live music scene in bars. Best ambience to here it.
