why are you so high on Virginia Tech?

I'm not necessarily all that high on them, although I do think they'll finish 3rd in the ACC. It really came down to me thinking they'll take the 3rd place ACC team over what's probably a 6-4 LSU.

They have 17 returning starters from last year, and I think having continuity like that will help for this particular year. They were pretty good down the stretch last year after making a change at QB. Perhaps they can build off of it.

Hope you are right. I was pretty surprised this week that Fuente offered up the info on Burmeister getting a few snaps in next week's game.

IMO - the winners of the Miami-Louisville / VT-UVA games next week will be the teams that challenge UNC for that 3rd spot.

since you're not high on Virginia Tech, that would suggest you feel that UNC is over-rated @ #18

while i do think UNC has a lot to prove, i do think they're trending in the right direction. They had a great WR corps last year and Howell projects to be the 2nd best QB in the league.

I would personally have VT ranked higher than UNC, but I still think UNC could be a top 25 team when it's all said and done.

UNC is wayyyy overrated. 7-5 and could’ve easily missed a bowl game. They’re ranked where they are because Mack Brown is friends with talking heads and because they have a top tier recruiting class. Not saying they can’t compete for the second spot in the coastal, but i don’t think it’s crazy to think 6-6 is out of the picture.
