pujols to the cards

Both of you settle down before I go upside both of yourn heads

I'm just glad we're finally bringing a better version of the game to the NL.
What did you say? Did you just make a joke about my mom’s alopecia??
:slaphappy:

will somebody PLEASE photoshop will smith’s head on this?

This right here should be one of the best arguments against the stupid DH. He’s not even playing baseball, he’s getting paid for batting practice. Makes me sick.

Before the DH people had to watch a great like Willie Mays embarrass himself in CF in his final season :noidea:

He can finally play baseball without a needle in his arm and getting packages from Toronto before games!

Before the DH people had to watch the 7, 8 and 9 hitters on minor league........ err, NL teams stand at the plate like the slappy sissies that they were and hope someone could hit the ball out of the infield.

Oh, and as an add bonus we got to watch Tony Larussa walk to the mound to make pitching changes 11 times in the last 3 innings of every game.

Fucking ticket grab.
It’s been nothing but a ticket grab since Pujols left. They haven’t had anything near a championship roster after 2011. Money money money

The Cardinals!?!?
Yeah you think they’ve had a legit championship contender since 2011 team? Not even close

They got stomped in 2013 by the Red Sox and stomped in the other 2 NLCS they got to since then.

I'd hardly say they got "stomped", it was a 4-2 series and four of those games were within 2 runs (though the Sox won 8-1 in G1 and 6-1 in G6 and outscored them 27-14).

It was a pretty strong Sox team. 97-65, but they had a +197 run differential and had a team OPS+ of 116 (Will Middlebrooks was the only hitter with 200+ PA to have an OPS+ under 100)

The 2012 NLCS went to game 7 and the Cards were winning that series 3-1.

2014... yeah, they got stomped in that it was only a 5 game series. All five games were within 3 runs though

Cards were up 2-1 and lost 3 straight. Choked stomped whatever you want to call it. They lost and lost bad because they didn’t have a championship caliber team and haven’t had 1 since 2011. That team was loaded and Dewitt was all about money after that.

they went 90-72 with a +70 run differential and it took a major collapse by the Braves to even make the playoffs. Their rotation was Carpenter and a bunch of scrubs. I'd hardly call that team "loaded."

Wondered why Pujols was playing a spring training game on the same day his wife was having brain surgery. Now I know. They're getting divorced.

He’s a mega-classy guy all around, isn’t he?! Dumps the only team who’s ever supported him to sign a mega-deal with a craptastic team like the Angels, and promptly has foot boo-boo problems that signal the end of his career.

Yeah, he’ll DH about 40% of the time, assuming he’s healthy. The fans will cheer for him to hit milestones, which will excite a few people. But the DH is an abomination— a stupid facet of less-talented teams, which feature offense-obsessed, brain dead fanbases like those in Boston and New York.

He seems kind of surly and I was for the Cards putting a kid on the roster but for 2.5 mil I understand why they did it. Wainwright, and Molina, their last year and nostalgia and all that. One thing everyone should know though. Years ago Albert and another Cards player showed up at the hospital where my sister's handcapped daughter (now deceased) and visited all the sick children. Prayed with my sister along with the chaplain for healing for my niece. No news cameras no press release.

He seemed like a great guy, his first stint with the Cards. I really don’t know what happened. Maybe some agent got it into his head that he was owed big money for name recognition alone.

Who was the other Cards player?

Unfortunately I've forgot. I'll think on it.

This shows you what money can do to people. Deedee Albert and Dewitt included.

Izzy. Jason Isringhausen.
