I got thinking about this. I think it is similar to the original XFL. The pro wrestling guy got too involved. Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff have no background in amateur wrestling - although Bischoff does have martial arts in his background.
If they were smart, they would model it after boxing and MMA. Making it as a pro wrestling promotion will not work. Pro wrestling is too much making fans interested and intrigued. That is why they have babyfaces, heels, and predetermined finishes.
Also, there might be that original surge of popularity among freestyle and pro wrestling fans. Then there would be a drop in ratings. That is where Vince took over XFL and ruined it. Will Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff add more pro wrestling twists to it?
It is not a bad concept. But do they have the right people running it?
