You would think they are titty-baby Giants players the way they are crying about a perfectly legal play.

The throw brings the catcher back, off balance, into the lane. Voit slides away from him but the catcher carries into Voits chest. Yeah his hands come down but nothing violent. Someone runs a helmet into my chest I'm going to bring my hands down to protect myself as well. This Pham tool repeatedly wanting to fight Voit is one of the dumbest thing I've seen since Kyrie threw the bird during a game.

Pham is the guy that pretty well said he only signed with the Reds for a chance to put up big numbers again and get a big contract after sucking ass in San Diego the last couple of years and didn’t care about the team.

He got his guts cut out at a bar in California a couple years ago. Some say that’s why his performance has dropped off so much. Voit is a big ole boy. He could probably rip Pham in half if he got ahold of him.

What exactly was Voit supposed to do? Just accept he’s out and pull up and let the catcher tag him? He’s a big, lumbering first baseman/DH type, not like he can really do the fancy swim slides

But, I understand that the backup catcher was being used as the DH and had to come into the game to take over at catcher and Cincy lost their DH as a result.

Seems like that should be grounds for a manager to get shit canned

It was a rollercoaster morning for me regarding the Reds...

- I looked at the MLB standings and saw the Reds had the worst record in the league. I smiled.
- I looked at their April schedule, then kinda felt bad for their fans. Brutal.
- I then saw Reds players whining about this play and it squashed all brief sympathy I had for them.

I feel sorry for Reds fans. They were in contention until late September last year and even with Castellanos hitting the market, they still could have had a scary lineup and good pitching.

They pretty well gave away Eugenio Suarez, Jesse Winker and Sonny Gray and now the team is basically just Joey Votto, Jonathan India and Tyler Mahle.

They should be right there with the A’s for lowest attendance in baseball this year.

Pretty well every franchise has to rebuild from time to time, but the Reds pulled the trigger too early and didn’t exactly revamp the farm system with their trades. All they did was a salary dump.

Shit owners need to get out of the league

You see what their owner said a couple weeks ago about if the fans don't like it they could just leave?

No, I didn’t see it, but sounds about right
Pretty sure he doubled down on it before issuing a fake apology.

And of course baseball does nothing about these shit heel owners and its gonna be real bad for the game if a legacy franchise ends up moving because of it.

No doubt. Cincinnati and Pittsburgh deserve better. Others too, but those have been in the same city since the 19th century

As long as those owners can make money without needing attendance, they will continue to do this crap. They get sweetheart deals on stadium construction and taxes then rake in money renting it out to other events, season ticket sales, parking, TV shares, naming rights, merchandise sales, etc. If people show up or not doesn't phase them and there isn't a commissioner capable of seeing beyond the dollar signs of today. Should have seen back in 1994 that the product was faltering and it had nothing to do with player salaries and everything to do with 50% of the on field product not being worth the price of admission. There has been no incentive in the last 30 years to improve the product on the field. The opposite in fact has happened and it is better to have a shit product that costs nothing and knowing revenue share will be there. Well, there should be a rule that is something like forfeiture of all or part of revenue sharing if you don't make the playoffs in the previous 3 years. That will end prolonged tanking once and for all.

As much as I agree this would require a commissioner who actually likes baseball, and not some bureaucrat.

Really the worst part is if/when baseball signs off on a long-time franchise re-locating under the justification of lack of interest they're too stupid not to realize with this current crop of owners nothing will change. As much as Kroenke is scum he at least did it with the intention of trying once he got out of STL, with these owners it's just going to be a repeat of the same cycle, just somewhere else.

Thank you Busty Poser for ruining baseball forever
Jon Stewart Thank You GIF
